What’s For Dinner?

grilled-ribs.jpg

Hybrid grilled baby back pork ribs and roasted corn-on-the-cob served with baked beans and Verna’s outstanding potato salad. She also whipped up an excellent peach/vinegar/garlic/tomato/sweet & sour BBQ sauce to baste the ribs. I’m drooling having to write this. 🙂 Click on the image to enlarge.

Ropa Vieja

Verna has gone beyond Cuban chicken to prepare this wonderful Ropa Vieja (Cuban Beef) dinner with black beans and wild rice. What a yummy meal! 🙂 Click on the image to enlarge.

Range Day

We went to the range today and finally got to shoot our new AR15. We took turns shooting five rounds at the target on our new target stand (target-stand.jpg). In the video to the right, Verna sends one of her five-round volleys downrange.

We set the target stand about 25 yards downrange to try out our new toy. The rifle is pretty accurate and we both got several rounds near the center of the target on our first tries.

We also shot about fifty rounds of 9mm with the S&W 908s pistol and fifty rounds of .45 ACP with “Fat Man,” the Glock 30 subcompact pistol. I moved the target stand closer to about 7 yards.

The target stand worked just fine. Now that we have it, we will be going to the range more. We badly needed the target practice today and it felt good to get back into shooting.

Reuben Sandwiches

Reuben Sandwich

Not exactly what you might expect for Sunday dinner, but we had a hankering for Reuben sandwiches with bleu cheese coleslaw. Corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese in the sandwiches made for a delicious meal as we enjoyed football and NASCAR on the tube. Click on the image to enlarge.

Our Trailer In 3D

Our Trailer In 3DI hitched up the trailer today and towed it down the RV drive to get it out of the way of some work that needs to be done behind the house. After I finished unhitching the rig, I took a pair of images to be merged into a 3D anaglyph image.

Of course, you will need your free pair of 3D glasses to view the anaglyph image. In case you do not have 3D glasses, you can view the 2D image here.
