Lemons – Lots of ‘Em

Lemons

Our lemon tree has been doing great this year. I trimmed it this spring and it already needs to be trimmed back more. I took this photo today of some of the lemons just at the top of the tree. There are many, many lemons and we will be harvesting them in the near future.

We are planning to use the lemon skins to produce Limoncello, an Italian liqueur (digestivo). We will take the pulp and squeeze the juice out to keep for future use as ingredients to meals or as lemonade. We’re looking into how to preserve lemon juice over the long term. 58 Chevrolet Apache Pickup in 3D

58 Chevrolet Apache Pickup

Verna and I were at the pharmacy picking up a prescription today, when an old gentleman drove into the lot in this gorgeous 1958 Chevrolet Apache pickup truck. Verna took several pictures of the truck and I discovered that I could merge two of them into this anaglyph image.

You will need your free pair of 3D glasses to view the image (click image to enlarge). As usual, I have posted the 2D version here.

Saguaro, Saguaro, I Love You Saguaro

First Saguaros

You’re only a state away . . . (apologies to ‘Annie‘).

After getting back in the Copper State crossing the Colorado River coming from California, it is only a short time before we see the first saguaros growing on the hillsides. I’m not saying there are NO saguaros in California, only that they do not populate the hillsides with hundreds of them like after the river crossing into Arizona. We enjoy seeing them after we cross the river all the way across the Arizona Outback and all the way to home. Click on the image to enlarge.

We’re Baaaack!

State Line

We’re back in California this evening. We have some important family business to attend to, and have to visit the old domicile to collect some information and a couple of things. We will be heading home on Wednesday. Click on the image to enlarge.

An Old Photo of Our Wedding Day

Wedding Day

This is not the original photo, but one that Verna took of a picture that I had in a stack of stuff in the safe. I was rummaging around looking for something else when I found this one. I also found some pictures of my Mom taken in 1938 on her wedding day. I may post that one soon. Click on the image to enlarge.
